Diploma in Interior Design (for Civil Engineers)

Space, lighting and design can influence how people feel, think, work, and relate to each other. Interior design is a rewarding and creative career that allows you to bring beauty and function into the lives of others.

The program introduces students to design principles, color theory, space planning, drafting and industry-standard software. Students learn to create beautiful and effective residential, commercial, industrial and public space designs and layouts. Graduates of this program will have developed a portfolio to showcase their designs and will be prepared to enter a career as an interior designer, planner, project manager or design consultant.

Each module will include a practical assignment and homework. These assignments are designed for helping students to formulate and exercise their learning. Guest lectures and Industrial visits will be part of the learning program. Many of the modules will also follow up with a review quiz, group games, seminars and many others that will highlight aspects of each lesson.

Exercises and projects will be started in class under the supervision of the instructor and then continued and finished individually. Towards the end of the program the student will be able to develop a complete portfolio of what they learnt.
